Instructors - Stuart Rogers

Stuart is the head instructor at Stuart Rogers’ Studios. He is an award-winning writer/director who also spent years working as an actor. With more than fifty equity plays to his credit and countless film and television appearances, Stuart has helped many actors become more effective in their artistic and business approach to landing jobs. As stated before, both current and former students are network and cable television series regulars, acting on Broadway and performing in big budget feature films. His students have won Emmys, Golden Globes and Tonys. Stuart has taught classes at UCLA, the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum and Chelsea Studios in Manhattan. He presently teaches year-round at the Theatre Tribe Studio Theatre in North Hollywood, CA. Stuart is the founder, and artistic director of the multi-award winning film/theatre company, Theatre Tribe/Film Wing Productions. Since the company came into existence ten years ago, he has directed a string of hit plays in their North Hollywood theater, including A Skull in Connemmara by Martin McDonagh (LA Times Critics' Choice, 7 Ovation Nominations), Paula Vogel’s The Long Christmas Ride Home for which he received the Ovation Award for best direction of a play, Craig Wright’s Recent Tragic Events (west-coast premiere & LA Times Critics Choice), the world- premiere of The Intern (L.A. Times Critics Choice), the west-coast premieres of two Lanford Wilson plays, Sympathetic Magic and Book of Days (both were LA Times Critics Choices). He received a Los Angeles Drama Critic’s Circle Award and a Garland Award for his direction of the latter. Some of the other plays Stuart directed with Theatre Tribe include: Memory of Water (west-coast premiere), Waiting for Lefty, and many others. Dirty Mary is the title of the first film of Theatre Tribe’s film division, aptly called The Film Wing. Dirty Mary has been accepted to over 30 film festivals nationwide, and won awards at more than 20 of them. Stuart is in post-production for two more films that he wrote and directed.
