CLASS OVERVIEW

The Scene Study Classes

Monthly/Ongoing

Scene Study is where the principles of Immersive Acting become lived experience through preparation, collaboration, and performance. In a supportive and creatively challenging environment, actors immerse themselves in the world of the story, discovering the freedom to play that allows truthful performances to emerge naturally. Every class is built around the collaborative nature of acting, creating an ensemble where artists learn from one another while continuing to grow together.

Class Placements

Class placement is determined by the studio’s director. The director considers each actor’s individual needs and current stage of development, within the context of the group as a whole. You will be able to change classes as your career changes and your needs vary.

Placement is not a measure of talent or ability. It reflects a deliberate effort to place each actor alongside peers who are facing similar challenges in the industry, creating the strongest possible environment for growth. Placement reflects fit, not skill.

Foundation

A space for actors who are discovering the artistic and professional demands of working in television, film, and theater. Most of the work centers on the art of acting however, your classmates are navigating the same questions you are: finding representation, managing auditions, building a community. Training includes scene work, acting process, text analysis, audition technique, and the practical business of being an actor.

Professional

A challenging, supportive environment for actors who have professional experience and representation and who are committed to developing their art and advancing their careers. The work emphasizes process, including text analysis and full engagement with the world of the story. Actors deepen their work, expand their range, and address the individual challenges that shape their art and careers.

Monday

For actors who are currently working consistently at a certain level. The work is highly individualized and focuses on the particular challenges of working actors. Whether you want to reignite your passion, refine your approach, or work through the pitfalls of a busy career, the class centers on each actor’s individual needs while building a supportive collective.
